ppp-pig, ppp-pizza, ppp-peg and so on Keeping your pen on the paper start at the top left above the parrot.  Go down his plait and back up over and around his face

ttt-turtle, ttt-tomato, ttt-toilet and so on

 

Starting at the top of the tower go down to the bottom, lift pen off paper and then go across the tower from left to right.

(keeping the pen on the paper and starting at the bottom of his neck)

Using the anti-clockwise direction go round his bottom up his tall neck (keep pen on paper) and back down to his feet.

Using the anti-clockwise direction go around the slither snake to the end.

(keeping the pen on the paper and starting in the top right when forming the letter)

Using the anti-clockwise direction go around the apple back to start and then back down the leaf.

When writing children should start at the top left and go down Maisie, up Maisie and over the mountain over the mountain.


 

Parents often get confused as to the 'right' way to say sounds when their child is learning phonics.  The video below shows a 5 year old girl Sylvie pronouncing all of the sounds your child will learn during their time in Reception - there are a lot!
