We have had a great time in our Carnival Dance workshop this morning. Our video below shows our groovy moves!
After half term we took part in a Maths workshop called 'All the Fun of the Fair'. We had a great time practising using our Maths skills to complete the games!
Wear a hat ~ Bring a water bottle ~ Put on suncream ~ Keep safe in the sun!
What are we learning about over this half term
Literacy: The children have recently been writing their own adventure stories based on The Hobbit. Over the rest of this half term they are going to be writing an information text about a magical creature that they create.
Maths: In Maths we are particularly focusing on multiplication and division strategies. We will be starting to look at formal written methods for both multiplication and division. The children will have lots of opportunities to use resources to support their understanding of this.
Science: We will be continuing our learning about the human body. We have already discussed the need for a balanced diet to keep us healthy and will now be looking in more detail and the human skeleton and muscles and how these help us move.
Topic: We have started our Ancient Egyptian topic and we have already seen some fantastic project homework for this topic. We will continue to look at our big question, 'How do we know that the afterlife was so important to the Ancient Egyptians?'. We will look at a variety of sources to investigate smaller questions to help us understand this in greater detail. we are also looking forward to our up-coming Egyptian Day.
In Year 3 homework will be sent out on a half termly basis. The children will have a mixture of activities to complete and these can be found in your child's homework book.
If you have any questions please ask our teacher.
